UIUC Asian American Studies 10th Year Anniversary Celebration

Please join us for the UIUC ASIAN AMERICAN STUDIES 10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION on Friday, MARCH 2, 2007 at the SPURLOCK MUSEUM. The 10th Anniversary recognizes those who have helped build us into the premier AAS program in the Midwest with over 14 core faculty, 10 affiliated faculty, and dozens of new and recurring courses investigating various aspects of Asian American issues each semester. We value your participation in celebrating this honor with us.

Our keynote speaker is an alumnus of the University of Illinois. Kyung Won Lee (MS, Journalism, 1955), also known as K.W. or K-dub, is an award-winning investigative journalist/activist and a passionate, inspirational mentor to Asian American college students across the nation. In addition to the keynote talk, panels discussing the history and future of the Asian American Studies Program, as well as a reception, will be part of the festivities.

We sincerely wish for your presence at the 10th Anniversary. This is a momentous occasion for Asian American students, faculty, and the University as a whole. Please distribute this invitation widely among your membership and friends, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
